It is all about the exaggerated shokoto! I hope you are having a great week so far. Today’s outfit of the day is inspired by the old school bell bottoms, pinafore from secondary school days and head wraps as a Redeemed chorister. Hence, the turban with unstructured African Ankara pinafore apron and exaggerated shokoto (bottoms). I styled with a dramatic pearl neckpiece and small pearl earrings. I mean it had to have a MAHS effect lol (not every time simple). The most interesting part of this is it was all sewn by me! Well, aside from the Zara black shirt 🙂 Let me show off with this first pic. I feel like a proud mama.
So, my summer goal was to learn how to sew in 4 days by watching youtube videos. It is safe to say I know basic sewing! I mean how can one be a stylist and not at least know how to stitch with a sewing machine. You just never know when the sewing machine and skill could come in handy! Plus I am quite a hands-on DIY individual and feel more comfortable knowing I can relate to dressmakers when I am describing what I want. Perhaps my sewing projects for the four days should be a different post (i was not going to post about it but the pictures should be sitting somewhere in my computer). For now, check out some more pictures from today’s outfit of the day.
Let me know what you think about my exaggerated shokoto. Thank you for stopping by. Have a fulfilled week.
