missed you on this side of the blog and thought I should share my contemporary Iro & Buba outfit I shared with some of my friends. Before we get into it, can I just say that In the background I have been building resources in MAHS Learn area with Kingdom Partners as you probably noticed particularly in Food & Art categories. Do check out the videos and downloadable PDFs that come with each lesson in case you missed out. Also, finally you guys have convinced me to become active on Instagram so do make sure you are following! Truly for us being African is not just an Identity but a Lifestyle.
As an advocate of supporting “Made In Nigeria”; “Made In Africa” and “Made By Africans” it should come as no surprise that today’s spotlight is on my brand MAHS. Last week Sunday was Thanksgiving service and so I rocked my traditional attire. I decided to wear my MAHS Custom designed Illusion Iro (Wrap) and Buba (Blouse) with one of our Ready to Wear Gele’s in Purple (Bomi). Simply added a different dimension to my Head Wear by wrapping the remaining ankara fabric on my plain Purple Aso Oke Gele. I hope to do more Youtube videos for style ideas for when you want to change up our Ready Made Geles. Though, the main secret is buying a plain one because those are usually more adaptable.
When I design or style I tend to opt for quick & easy or less complex styles, for example, taking away the need to tie a wrapper like the classic Iro & Buba or having to tie gele from scratch (this modern African does not have that time lmao).
What is your verdict on my Illusion Iro & Buba ensemble and would you have styled it differently?
Thank you for stopping by. Have a fulfilled week.
P.S. Every time I rock one of the Ready Made collection I always get questions. Feel free to drop your questions and If you are outside the UK do not worry we have your back as we ship worldwide just send us a message for your order.
